On May 19th, 2017, The Calgary, Alberta, Canada Baillage was hosted at the Post Hotel in Lake Louise for the first of two wonderful evenings filled with great food and wine. For this OM, Linda Robinson and Jorge Ramos organised a fantastic flight of seven ports with ages totalling 325th years to celebrate Taylor Fladgate’s Anniversary, as well as, a special anniversary port celebrating the 150th Birthday of Canada. 


Members and guests of the Chaine were warmly welcomed into the library for the tasting and hor’s d’oeuvre and then moved downstairs for the formal dinner.


‘Once we were seated, Linda Robinson welcomed us to the evening, introduced our guests and reminded us that there are certain rules and conventions to be followed at the table. We were then served a wonderful meal with thoughtful pairings and a superb cheese course.

Fresh Pacific Halibut, White Port Wine Beurre Blanc, Edamame Beans

Whole Roasted Milk-fed Quebec Veal Tenderloin, Porcini Veal Jus, White Wine Risotto and Snow Peas

Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Chamboard Compote and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

After the meal, Linda Robinson presented a pair of port service tongs and a bottle of the special anniversary port to members of the service staff and provided the members in attendance with a signed book detailing the history of Taylor Fladgate.


Thank you to the culinary and service teams for such a wonderful beginning to the start of the two evenings!
