Jeunes Commis Rotisseurs Competition

June 2, 2006

Juergen Bahr, Vice-Chargé de Presse

The Calgary Bailliage annually hosts the local Jeunes Commis Rotisseurs Competition at the facilities of SAIT Polytechnic. The local competition is held in June of each year. This competition is open to apprentices and cooks who are employed at establishments where the Chef, Manager or Owner is a Chaine member in good standing. The winner of the local competition will progress to the National Jeunes Commis Rotisseurs competition, which is held in a different Canadian city each year. Should the competitor be successful at the national level, he or she will be sponsored to compete at the International Jeunes Commis Rotisseurs competition wherever it is to be held.

In order to compete, young chefs must be less than 25 years of age at the time of the International competition for which they would qualify.
