For the reception we were greeted with Sartori Pinot Grigio, 2017, accompanied by Caviar on a Blini with Crème Fraiche, Steelhead Trout Tartare on a Beet Cracker, and Paté en Croute.

Before dinner Linda welcomed us, along with Andrea Sartori who gave us a memorable trip through the history of Sartori. In the 1950’s the winery was brought to international recognition and they started exporting worldwide. 2019 marks the 120th anniversary of Sartori Winery, it is still family owned. The brothers run the winery, keeping their family tradition alive. They enjoy delivering the message of Verona and their wine to the world. This year in honour of their grandfather they have brought back the label from the 1960’s.

The wine accompanying our first course, Sartori Marani, was named for their grandmother. Credited with keeping the family together, Andrea adored her as his heroine, and this rare white Amaroni was named Marani in her memory.
