We were welcomed at Le Charme, by a roaring outdoor fire, that Matt ensured was kept blazing, should we choose to enjoy the beautiful November evening after dinner.
Once inside we were greeted with Prosecco and a tapenade hors d’oeuvres.
Sean, Vice Conseiller Gastronomique, stepped in for Joe this evening, he welcomed us to Le Charme introduced our guests, and reminded us of the rules of the table.

This dinner was a cozy, relaxed, family service style event, the first of more to come. Le Charme, having only being opened a month was warm and welcoming, they closed the restaurant to the public for us on Saturday evening. They treated us to some of their favourite menu items, alas they didn’t share Avenue magazines voted most popular dish, their NY Banana Cheesecake, but it is an excellent excuse to return.
Dinner having concluded Sean shared features from the evening, the shrimp toast, coquille Saint-Jaques, and the lemon ricotta & Spinach Cappelletti, along with the lime leaf pavlova. As to the wine pairings they complimented each course and truly added to the experience. The whole team at Le Charme took exemplary care of us.
As per our tradition two plates were presented in recognition of the exceptional efforts of two members of Le Charme staff, one from the kitchen brigade, or heart of the house, and another for the front of house.
The plate for the front of the house went to Matt Drummond, owner of Le Charm.
The plate for the heart of the house went to Chef Nils Schneider.
