This evening featured wines from Australia’s First Families of Wine.

Vice-Echanson Linda Robinson walked us through this evenings wine tasting selection.

Australia’s First Families of Wine include, Brown Brothers, Campbells, d’Arenberg, Henschke, Howard Park, Jim Barry, Tahbilk, Taylors, Tyrrell’s and Yalumba. The AFFW is an Australian wine initiative to raise the profile of Australian wine to the world. It was established by multi-generational family-owned wine producers, these families represent 17 wine growing region across Australia, and 48 generations of wine makers. Their goal is to change the global perception of Australian wine. Believing that they can stem the news stories about Australia producing nothing but cheap industrial wines. They are hoping that together they can present a showcase of terrific regional wines with diversity.

This evening we tasted 9 wines from Pewsey Vale, Jim Barry, Henschke, and Yalumba.
