Jeunes Chefs Competition

On June 8, 2017, the Calgary Bailliage held their annual Jeunes Chefs competition for competitors from around Alberta.
The Calgary Bailliage would like to give a very sincere thank you to all of the competitors, judges, and to the organizer Chef Michael Dekker for another very successful competition.
The competition had seven competitors this year:
Adam Mahoney – Alloy
David Vasquez – Oxbow
Kyle Cooper – The Ranchmen’s Club
Sean Thornhill – Teatro Group
Jeff Gall – Fairmont Banff Springs
Darren Wyand – Fairmont Banff Springs
Svitlana Golub – Hotel Arts
The competitors were required to produce an appetizer, main course, and a dessert from the following black box items:
BLACK BOX MANDATORY ITEMS
1. Whole Chicken
2. Whole Euro Bass
3. Mussels
4. Ricotta Cheese
5. Barley
6. Portobello Mushrooms
The Calgary Bailliage would like to congratulate Sean Thornhill on winning the 2018 Jeunes Chef competition. The Bailliage would also like to thank all of the establishments represented by these young culinarians for the support they provided to all of the participants and their continued dedication to culinary excellence and the Chaine des Rotisseurs.
